Economic Development

Nestled at the base of Mount Hood, and home to countless hiking & biking trails and a plethora of outdoor recreational activities, the City of Sandy has a population of about 13,000 and is the commercial center of a rural area with a population of more than 45,000.

Development Services

The Development Services Department is comprised of the following two divisions: the Planning Division and the Building Division. The Department is staffed by six full-time employees. In addition to the typical functions of planning and building, the department issues business licenses, manages urban renewal grant programs, and enforces the municipal code. We are located in the east side of City Hall at 39250 Pioneer Blvd.

The bus en route to Estacada will detour to Hwy 224 at Folsom Rd and return to Eagle Creek Rd via River Mill Rd. The bus to Sandy will detour to Hwy 26 at River Mill Rd and return to Eagle Creek Rd via Folsom Rd.

Parks and Recreation

 

Our Mission: The City of Sandy's Parks and Recreation team will help engage and strengthen community belonging by developing  and maintaining safe, clean and accessible parks as well as providing inclusive and diverse programs and services.

Our Vision: We aim to advance Sandy's parks, programs, services, and policies while striving to be a leader in the field of Parks and Recreation and a pillar to the community of Sandy.

Conformance

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. This website’s goal is conformance with WCAG 2.1 level AA.

Administration

The Administration Department includes the City Manager, City Recorder, and portions of various support staff. In the council-manager form of government, the City Manager is appointed by the City Council to implement Council policies and manage the day to day operations of the City. This work includes overseeing all city departments and employees, managing the city budget as approved by the Council, working with elected officials and members of the community, and keeping the Council informed of City business.
