SAM-Estacada Route:  March 21st-April 26th. Expect route delays due to construction. Beginning March 26th the bus en route to Estacada will detour to Hwy 224 at Folsom Rd and return to Eagle Creek Rd via River Mill Rd. The bus to Sandy will detour to Hwy 26 at River Mill Rd and return to Eagle Creek Rd via Folsom Rd.

Sandy Transit has completed its evaluation in response to Request for Proposal (RFP) #SAM2025, Sandy Area Metro Operations issued January 9, 2025. To select the Offeror, a selection team evaluated the proposals based on the criteria stated in the RFP. We announce our intent to award the contract to RTW Management.

This Notice does not constitute the formation of a contract between Sandy Transit and the apparent successful proposer. The successful proposer shall not acquire any legal or equitable rights to the contract services until contract containing terms and conditions acceptable to Sandy Transit are executed. If the apparent successful proposer fails to negotiate and execute contract with Sandy Transit, the Agency may revoke the award and grant the contract to the next most qualified proposer or withdraw the RFP. Sandy Transit further reserves the right to cancel this Notice of Intent to Award at any time prior to the execution of a written contract.

Any interested party may protest this Notice of Intent to Award by submitting a written protest to Andi Howell, Transit Director, within ten (10) calendar days after the date of this notice. The protest period shall begin March 14, 2025, and end at the close of business on March 24, 2025.

***SAM Estacada will resume $1.00 fares beginning February 1, 2025***

SAM and MHX have partnered to provide a combined FARELESS Estacada and Village Shuttle route! This partnership will allow for 7 runs a day, 7 days a week, providing much needed additional service to Sandy, Estacada and the Mountain communities! The route will start on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

THE ROUTE NOW INCLUDES VISTA LOOP!!!! The route will stop at all SAM/MHX designated stops along the routes, including all Sandy stops on Hwy 26, Hwy 211 and Eagle creek Rd. To view the schedule click here. 

Sandy's transit department offers several transportation options. These services are designed to accommodate varying levels of accessibility in an integrated transit system. Every effort is made to make the Gresham Clackamas and Estacada commuter routes (also called fixed route service) accessible and user friendly. We have low-floor vehicles and offer transit training excursions that combine adventure with learning to use the region's transit system. Sandy employs professional dispatch and driving staff who undergo sensitivity training. Sandy Transit works with other city departments such as Planning and Public Works to include curb cuts and braille strips at all intersections along our fixed route.

Our fixed routes are supported with a demand-response service for door-to-door trips as needed to get to local services. This service also acts as a feeder service to the fixed route. We also offer a free shuttle that provides transportation to local shopping. A higher need of assistance requiring door-to-door service for medical appointments outside of the service area is also available for qualified individuals.

Sandy Transit has adopted the Oregon Department of Transportation's DBE goal of 8% for fiscal years 2024-2025. To view our plans for the future please review the Sandy Transit Master Plan and the Operations Center Master Plan in Supporting Documents below. 

The Sandy Transit Center is located on Hoffman Street between Proctor Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard. SAM's fixed route commuter services operate from the transit center. See the schedule for details.
