Covered Structures Program Round 2 starts on October 11th!

Earlier in 2021, Sandy enacted a new grant program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to help our restaurants, bars, and gyms create outdoor dining and workout spaces. This program, called the Permanent Outdoor Covered Structures Program, was open to local restaurants, pubs and gyms, and has helped to create some fantastic outdoor operating spaces for our local business community by providing up-front funding from the City to create permanent outdoor covered structures for qualified businesses in return for a 20% match from the business upon completion.

Due to the success of this program, we are opening a second round of the City of Sandy Permanent Outdoor Covered Structures grant program this fall.  Any restaurant, pub or gym within the city limits of Sandy is eligible to apply.  Click here for detailed information about the program (scroll down to access the program guidelines, criteria, and the program application form).

The application period will open at 12:01 AM on October 11th and remain open until 5:00 PM on October 29th.  To have your project considered, your grant application must be received no later October 29th.  (This is a competitive grant program -- applications will be reviewed and approved by the Sandy City Council or the Sandy Urban Renewal Board depending on the location of the proposed project.)
