Introducing: National Night Out Block Parties!

For the past 40 years, National Night Out has been observed across the country as an event that brings neighbors and law enforcement together to build community. There are lots of ways to celebrate, but this year the City of Sandy is excited to bring National Night Out back to its roots with a neighborhood-based event that connects police officers with residents directly where they live.  On August 6, 2024, we are encouraging all Sandy neighborhoods to hold their own local National Night Out block parties, and our Sandy PD officers want to join you and bring FREE ICE CREAM!

How Can Our Block Participate?

Once you and your neighbors decide to participate, just fill out and submit the National Night Out Block Party application.  Once your application is approved, we’ll let you know when we’ll be dropping off your block party street closure barricades, and then on August 6th Sandy PD and the SAM Trolley will visit your block party and bring FREE ICE CREAM and other treats!

This community celebration doesn’t end with your block party - join us the following evening for our FREE summer concert on August 7th at Meinig Park.  It’s your opportunity to enjoy fantastic music and support your local police department while you're at it!  While all of our summer concerts include a 'split the bucks' raffle, we’re dedicating the proceeds from the August 7th raffle specifically to Sandy’s annual Shop with a Cop program.
