Municipal Code Enforcement

The City of Sandy currently has two employees that are tasked with enforcing our municipal code -- a Community Service Officer that works for the Sandy Police Department, and a Code Enforcement Specialist that works for the City's Development Services Department.  The table below breaks down the areas of responsibility between these two positions -- please refer to this table to determine which one of these employees to contact regarding your code question or complaint.  You can link to the individual page for each position by clicking on the links at the top of each column.

Code Enforcement

The Development Services Department Code Enforcement Specialist is responsible for addressing municipal code violations that are associated with the list below.

The Police Department also handles some code enforcement obligations. For a complete breakdown of the areas of responsibility between the two departments, or a link for reporting a code enforcement violation, please click here.

Special Service Contract Program

Every two years, the Sandy City Council identifies their organizational goals for the coming budget period. Sometimes certain goals can be accomplished more efficiently or effectively by persons or organizations outside city government, typically by these parties using their proprietary expertise or resources in concert with public funding to produce better results for the citizens of Sandy than the city government could produce on its own.
