Parks and Recreation

The Summer Sounds and Starlight Cinema is Sandy's annual "Concerts and Movies in the Park" event.  All concerts and movies are free events that take place at Meinig Park.  Concerts will start at 6:00pm and end at 8:00pm.  Movies will start at "Dusk".  For all of our Concerts there will be food and drinks available for purchase.

July 30th-Jukebox Heroes

August 13th-The Revival Brothers Band

Movies:

September 5th-The Wild Robot

August 8th-The Goonies

Meinig Park Improvement Plan Update (April 21, 2026)

The City has determined that improvements to Meinig Park will be completed in phases to ensure a thoughtful and efficient approach.

The Shelter is available 7 days a week and comes with 3 picnic tables and a trash can.

Block 1: 7:30am-10:30am

Block 2: 11:00am-2:00pm

Block 3: 2:30pm-5:30pm

Block 4: 6:00pm-9:00pm

The fee for the rental is $75. 

There is a resident discount for $55.

The City of Sandy is partnering with Minds and Motion to off STEM related Science Classes.  All classes will be held at the Sandy Community and Senior Center in the Upstairs Art Room.  Give us a call at 503-669-5569 for more information on our classes.
