The Community Center Dining Room is approximately 1,700 square feet. It is located downstairs. There are six rounds tables which seat approximately 8-9 people per table. There are additional 6 - 8 ft. tables available for use. The dining room is a great space for any kind of event, especially those involving food. The kitchen is currently not available for rental, however you can use it to prep food (there is no refrigerator, stove, oven, warmer, or dishwasher access).
The auditorium is a large room approximately 2,000 square feet. The auditorium is located upstairs with an elevator close to the entrance. It has a small stage and easy access to restrooms. This room is lined with windows on the east side and mirrors on the west wall. There are some skylights which bring in a lot of natural light. The auditorium is a great place for birthday parties, receptions, large meetings, and activities.
Parks and Recreation offers a robust variety of events for all ages in the City of Sandy. Upcoming events include Longest Day Parkway, Noah's Quest 10K/5K run/walk, Fireworks, Sandy Mountain Festival, Movies & Concerts in the Park and The Corn Cross Mountain Bike Race. In addition, events are offered throughout the year for various special occasions, fundraising, and specific age groups.
The Community/Senior Center is our community gathering place for information, resources, recreational activities, senior group activities, and many other opportunities for social interaction. Various rooms within the center are available for rental for birthday parties, celebration of life, receptions, and group use.
This 1.26 acre park at the corner of Tupper Road and Sandy Heights Street includes an asphalt basketball court and a play structure for younger children.
Sandy's developed parks, grounds, trails and open spaces are maintained by two full-time employees and a seasonal worker employed during the summer months. The entrance features at the east and west ends of the one-way couplet and landscaping at most City facilities other than City Hall are maintained through contract with local landscaping firms.
