Storytime at the Sandy Library

Thursdays at 10:00 am in the Hoyt Community Room at the Sandy Library

Miss Monica will read books and we will sing songs and learn rhymes together. Todos Juntos will provide a fun craft activity afterward. This program is for preschool children aged 2-5 and is designed to help your child learn the important early literacy skills needed to help them learn to read. 

 

Urban Renewal Board

The Sandy City Council also serves as the Board of the Sandy Urban Renewal Agency. Urban Renewal is an economic development tool used by local governments throughout Oregon to revitalize specific areas through public investment that encourages private development.

City Signage and Temporary Structure Regulations for Business Returning to Pre-Pandemic Rules on September 1

The last 15 months have been an extraordinarily difficult time for businesses throughout Oregon.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Sandy made a policy decision to not enforce our rules regarding signage and temporary structures.  We felt that businesses were having a hard enough time keeping their doors open during this unprecedented period and wanted to provide assistance in any way we could.  Now, as Oregon begins to take the steps necessary to lift COVID-19 restrictions and re-open our economy, the time is approaching for us to begin enforcing our municipal code once again.

New City Council Meeting Public Comment Process

The City Council places high value on receiving input from residents, and sets aside time at each regular meeting for members of the public to comment for up to three minutes on a topic of their choice.

 

In an effort to make this system more organized, the July 6th meeting will begin a new process for people to sign up ahead of time to offer comments.  It takes just a moment to fill out the form, and it will help ensure that everything proceeds smoothly.  See the information below:

 

Sandy Comprehensive Plan RFQ

The City of Sandy is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting firms to assist on the City of Sandy Comprehensive Plan as detailed in the City’s Request for Qualifications (RFQ).

Sealed RFQ submissions must be received by Jeff Aprati, City Recorder at 39250 Pioneer Blvd, Sandy, OR 97055, on or before 5:00 PM PST on August 6, 2021.  Envelopes should be clearly marked “Comprehensive Plan Update RFQ.”  Please provide one (1) digital copy (no email submittals) and five (5) hard copies of the proposal.

Late submissions will not be accepted.
