Sign Variance Code and Application

Sec. 15.32.150. Variances to standards.

There may be rare instances where a combination of strict application of the standards in this chapter and/or public safety concerns may preclude use of signs as a communication medium for a primary frontage. In these cases, it may be appropriate to vary a particular standard to enable a property owner to utilize signs in a manner similar to others in a district.

Child Care Building Safety Checklist

When applying for a business license for a commercial child care, the Building Official will inspect the establishment to ensure that the facility provides a safe environment for patrons, customers, and employees.

There may be other items identified by the Building Official, Planning Division, or State of Oregon Department of Human Services.

* Please use this checklist when looking to start a childcare business

ERUs for Vacant Commercial & Industrial Buildings

The table in the PDF below shows vacant commercial and industrial buildings in Sandy along with their associated ERUs.  The ERUs are calculated based on the previous use of the property before it became vacant, and they indicate the size of wastewater system demand that can be accommodated at that site for a future business, under the terms of the City's consent decree with EPA and DEQ.
