Once the leaves begin to fall, many gardeners’ attention turns to activities other than hanging in their landscapes. And, although the weather may be cooler and wetter in the fall and winter, there are ways we can both participate in our plants’ health, and prepare for Spring. There are plants which can’t tolerate winter temperatures to be cared for; planting of species which thrive in winter; and looking out for the wild critters that can use a little TLC to thrive. And, although we can’t see anything happening, preparing our landscapes – and particularly the soil – for next year’s plants is best done in the fall. Come learn how to garden with no trowels or wheelbarrows!
